Sameera Reddy has traded Mumbai’s relentless pace for a quieter, nature-filled life in Goa, where she lives with her husband Akshai Varde and their two children in a sprawling three-storey bungalow. Surrounded by coconut, mango, areca and other trees, the actor-turned-influencer’s home is a reflection of the slower lifestyle she chose for her family nearly six years ago. During an episode of Curly Tales’ ‘Tere Gully Mein’, Sameera opened up about her decision to leave Mumbai, while a separate home tour featured on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel offered a closer look at the interiors, garden, balcony and terrace of the Goa property.
Why Sameera Reddy moved from Mumbai to Goa
For Sameera, the decision to leave Mumbai was largely about creating a different environment for her children. During her conversation with Curly Tales, she explained that she wanted her children to experience something beyond the hectic city lifestyle.“I think Bombay chhodne ke baad maine socha ki I wanted to give my children something much more. And Goa has really given me more! I am telling you, subah se shaam I am just busy gardening! I am just gardening all the time!(I think after leaving Bombay, I thought that I wanted to give my children something much more. And Goa has really given me more! I am telling you, from morning to evening I am just busy gardening! I am just gardening all the time!)” she said. The actor has since regularly offered glimpses of her life in Goa, from gardening and homegrown produce to family moments surrounded by greenery.
Sameera Reddy’s Goa home is surrounded by greenery
The most striking feature of the property is its expansive garden. As highlighted in Farah Khan’s vlog, the space surrounding the bungalow includes areca palms, bamboo, neem, sapodilla and coconut trees, among several other varieties of plants. The lush setting gives the multi-storey house the feel of a private green retreat. The property also includes mango trees, with Sameera revealing that one of her trees produced around 350 mangoes in a single season. For the actor, the garden is not merely decorative. Gardening has become a regular part of her daily routine and an important aspect of the lifestyle she has built in Goa.
Local food and community are important to Sameera
Sameera also spoke about the connection between her decision to move to Goa and the kind of upbringing she wanted for her children. She recalled how her 93-year-old father continues to lead an active lifestyle while eating fresh, locally sourced food.“Maybe, coming to Goa mujhe laga shayad mere baccho ko bhi vaise hi local feel aa jaega, they’ll eat good local food too,” she said. She also described Goa’s community spirit as one of the things she values most. After her mango tree produced hundreds of mangoes, she shared the fruit with neighbours. In return, neighbours exchange fruits and vegetables grown in their own gardens.
A warm and relaxed living room
The bungalow’s interiors, as seen in the Farah Khan’s vlog, maintain the relaxed character of the property’s outdoor spaces. The living room features light wooden flooring and walls in cream and soft sage green. A wooden three-seater sofa with dark teal cushions forms the centre of the room, while a wooden daybed with blue cushions and pastel-coloured pillows provides another comfortable seating area. Large sliding glass doors allow plenty of natural light into the room and create a visual connection with the greenery outside. A wooden pendant light and a console with a marble top add warmth to the space without making it feel overly formal.
Family-friendly dining area and functional kitchen
The dining area features a long wooden table and a built-in shelving unit displaying books, toys, decorative objects and a miniature car. A window brings the greenery indoors, keeping the space bright and connected to the garden. The kitchen follows a more contemporary design, combining white upper cabinets with darker wooden lower cabinets. Beige and brown backsplash tiles and a black granite countertop complete the functional space.
Sameera Reddy and Akshai Varde’s peaceful bedroom
The bedroom shared by Sameera and Akshai Varde follows the home’s understated aesthetic. It features white walls, light wooden flooring and a large bed with a dark wooden frame and vertical slatted headboard. A workout bench with weights sits near the window, while a large sliding glass door opens onto a balcony furnished with pale yellow chairs. The surrounding greenery once again becomes a key part of the view.
Sameera Reddy calls the terrace her favourite part of the house
The balcony, furnished with pale yellow wicker chairs and a hanging cane egg chair, overlooks tall palm trees. The terrace, which Reddy calls her favourite spot in the house, features a yellow-toned sofa set ideal for evening gatherings, and even saw her pluck a fresh coconut straight from the garden during Farah Khan’s visit. The bedroom carries forward the home’s calm aesthetic, with a dark wooden bed frame, a workout corner, and a sliding glass door opening onto a private balcony. During Farah Khan’s visit to the house, Sameera even got her to participate in a coconut-plucking moment on the terrace. Interestingly, the space also has a black ring light on a tripod, reflecting Sameera’s work as a social media creator.
