Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin’s son-in-law V Sabareesan sprang a surprise by participating in a DMK meeting in Villivakkam, where his close associate Karthik Mohan is contesting for the first time in the Assembly poll.In the meeting, Sabareesan attacked TVK president Vijay for contesting in two constituencies. “It shows his (Vijay’s) confidence,” Sabareesan told reporters when asked about Vijay’s decision to contest in Perambur and Trichy East.Asked whether TVK will affect DMK’s prospects in the election, Sabareesan said DMK will win irrespective of the number of challengers. Sabareesan said DMK has no competitor in the upcoming Assembly election. “DMK’s schemes speak for themselves. There is no contest here for DMK,” Sabareesan said.Sabareesan participated in the meeting to introduce the candidate among the party functionaries along with HR and CE minister P K Sekarbabu and Greater Chennai Corporation mayor R Priya.tnn
