Rumours of Ryan Gosling playing Ghost Rider have always been around. Now, Gosling has finally addressed the latest round of speculation himself. While he did not confirm anything, he also definitely did not shut it down.The Oscar-nominated actor previously expressed his interest in taking on the fiery antihero, but he’s now confirming discussion with the makers.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz asked Gosling if he’s met with MCU boss Kevin Feige about the role. “Some discussions have been had,” Ryan Gosling responded. “It’s a complicated situation.”

According to a Collider report, back in 2022, Gosling openly said Ghost Rider was the superhero he most wanted to play, and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige responded enthusiastically. “Ryan’s amazing,” Feige said at the time. “I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU.”Meanwhile, the Oscar-nominated actor is promoting his latest film ‘Project Hail Mary’ and is also set for his role in the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Starfight.’
A look at the Ghost Rider roles
In 2007’s Ghost Rider, Nicolas Cage played Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman who sold his soul and must hunt demons who’ve escaped from Hell. Cage then returned in the 2011 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. A different incarnation of the character later joined the MCU when Gabriel Luna suited up as Robbie Reyes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he was set to headline a Ghost Rider series at Hulu before the project was ultimately shelved.
