Nagpur: Local Crime Branch (LCB) team of Nagpur Rural police arrested two persons for alleged illegal possession of a country-made firearm. Acting on information that one Sujit Thakur, 23, was planning a serious crime with a firearm, the team laid a trap near a bus stop on Friday. Thakur revealed he handed over the firearm to his friend Ankit Walke, 30, of Sonar Mohalla, Parseoni, for safekeeping. A subsequent search at Walke’s residence led to recovery of a country-made Mauser pistol. Cops seized the pistol valued at 40,000, 2 mobile phones worth 70,000, totalling 1.10 lakh. A case has been lodged by Parseoni police. TNN
