Mumbai: More than 1,400 clerical staff of all RTOs and border check posts across the state will be on an indefinite pen-down strike from June 16 for their list of demands, including pending promotions, which have been denied to them for the past four years. This could impact RTO-related work in Mumbai and the rest of the state.Motor Vahan Vibhag Karamachari Sanghatana Maharashtra general secretary Surendra Sartape said that in the past, a few meetings were held with transport minister Pratap Sarnaik, and also a petition was given to transport commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, but in vain. “This time, we want immediate redressal, else the indefinite strike will prolong and this will impact govt work at all RTOs and the border check posts of the state,” he warned. Transport department officials were unavailable for comment.
