Hyderabad: Employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) are set to receive the long-awaited 11% fitment under RPS-2021 from July 1, nearly five years after the wage revision became due. The state govt on Thursday also decided to initiate the process for recognition of union elections, another issue pending for several years.The announcements came after reviewing the functioning of the state-run transport utility, which employs more than 38,000 people.Apart from employee-related decisions, the govt asked the corporation to speed up infrastructure projects, including new depots at Nagarkurnool and Peddapalli. According to official figures, TGSRTC currently operates 10,173 buses and caters to about 61 lakh passengers daily. The govt is also planning a meeting of transport ministers and senior officials from southern states to discuss electric mobility and pollution-control measures in public transport.
