Silchar: Cachar police have seized 10,000 yaba tablets valued at around Rs 3 crore from Kulicherra near the Assam-Mizoram border and arrested one person in connection with the case.Police said the operation was carried out late on Sunday by a team led by DSP Bhaskar Shikha Saikia. Acting on intelligence, the team raided a furniture shop in Kulicherra and recovered the consignment of yaba tablets concealed on the premises.The arrested accused has been identified as Jubel Ahmed Laskar. He has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the trafficking network.Speaking to reporters on Monday, additional SP (Cachar) Manas Saikia said the district police achieved significant success in anti-narcotics operations over the past 48 hours.He said the combined value of drugs seized during the two operations is estimated at around Rs 8 crore.
