Nagpur: Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund (CM Relief Fund) has emerged as a crucial support system for needy and eligible patients, who could not avail benefits under other govt health schemes. In Nagpur district, financial assistance of 19.79 crore was disbursed to 2,320 patients during the last financial year.Statewide, between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026, assistance amounting to 333.06 crore was provided to 40,776 patients. Financial assistance is provided for treatment of 20 ailments, including cochlear implants (for children aged 2-6), heart, liver, kidney and lung transplants, bone marrow procedures, joint replacements, cancer surgeries, dialysis, brain disorders, neonatal diseases, burn injuries and accident-related treatments.Officials have urged eligible patients to avail the scheme and seek further information through toll-free helpline 1800-123-2211, said Rameshwar Naik, head of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospitals Assistance Cell in Mumbai.The initiative has gained momentum under the leadership of CM Devendra Fadnavis, with key reforms such as establishment of district-level cells, paperless application process, and expedited disposal of applications. These measures have significantly streamlined the system and ensured faster delivery of aid.
