Hisar: The Fatehabad police on Saturday claimed to have frozen properties linked to five alleged drug smugglers, valued at over Rs 1.5 crore. The action is part of an ongoing campaign targeting proceeds of crime under the NDPS framework.The superintendent of police, Nikita Khattar, said multiple police units carried out the operation under the supervision of ASP Divyashin Singla. The police said properties worth crores linked to six smugglers had been attached so far.According to officials, the CIA unit of the Tohana police registered a case in 2025 after recovering over 4 kg of heroin from Jagseer Singh alias Jagga, a repeat offender. Jagga’s pickup vehicle, valued at around Rs 5 lakh, has been frozen, they said.In another case, Rakesh Kumar alias Kalu was arrested with a large quantity of alprazolam tablets, and his motorcycle, worth about Rs 60,000, was attached.Sadar Fatehabad police also acted against Bachchan Singh, who faces multiple NDPS cases. After the recovery of poppy husk from his possession, the investigation revealed he acquired a house and vehicles in Nakta village using drug proceeds. The police froze his house worth around Rs 20 lakh and two motorcycles valued at Rs 1.6 lakh.In Tohana City, Kuldeep Singh alias Mangu was identified as part of a heroin smuggling network. His house worth about Rs 20 lakh, and three motorcycles worth Rs 1.8 lakh have been frozen, said the police.Similarly, the Fatehabad City police arrested Ajay alias Ajji with heroin. Probe revealed he purchased a house and vehicles in Gurunanakpura using drug money. His house and two motorcycles, collectively worth around Rs 10 lakh, have also been frozen.The police said the action was aimed at breaking the financial backbone of drug traffickers and would continue in the coming days.MSID:: 130356099 413 |
