Ranchi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued four children, including three girls, during a routine check at Ranchi railway station under Operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’.The RPF said on Friday that during the drive on Thursday, its team found three minor girls sitting in suspicious circumstances on Platform 1. During questioning, two of the girls said they were 14 years old, while the third said she was 11. They told officials that they had left their homes in search of jobs.
The girls said they belonged to economically weaker families and were planning to travel to Chennai to work as domestic helps.After completing necessary formalities, the RPF handed them over to Childline for further action.In a separate incident, the RPF found a 16-year-old boy roaming alone on Platform 1. He told officials that he had fled his home in Narkopi village. He was also handed over to Childline for counselling and further procedures.
