Vadodara: The Royal Satyamev Jayate Group (RSJG) on Friday alleged possible ballot-box tampering after the conclusion of the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) polls scheduled for Sunday evening.“We don’t trust the election officer. He showed bias in favour of the Revival Group in the past. Earlier, he changed the voting timings at short notice on directions of the Revival Group,” alleged Darshan Banker, RSJG’s presidential candidate.Banker further claimed that ballot boxes could be tampered with or replaced if kept in the custody of the election officer. “We demand that all ballot boxes be kept at the district collector’s office until the court delivers its ruling,” he said.RSJG candidates also criticised BCA CEO Snehal Parikh, alleging that he attended gatherings of the Revival Group and canvassed for its candidates. “He is an employee of the BCA. How can he openly side with one group?” questioned Jatin Vakil, who is contesting for the post of joint secretary from RSJG.Royal scion Samarjitsinh Gaekwad said the RSJG was contesting the polls to bring change and improve cricketing standards in the association. “We need to produce more international cricketers, build better infrastructure, and provide improved facilities to young players. I am confident BCA members will support us,” Gaekwad said.
