Ahmedabad: In a bid to boost non-fare revenue, Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) is planning to build a rooftop premium fine-dining restaurant and cafe atop Sabarmati Riverfront Multilevel Parking on the river’s western bank.It has invited expressions of interest (EOI) and asked bidders to submit proposals by Sep 1.The Rs 60 crore, seven-storeyed facility opened on a pilot basis in Sep 2023. Capable of housing 1,000 two-wheelers and 700 four-wheelers, it features a skywalk linking directly to Atal Bridge and Event Ground. Parking rates range from Rs 10–Rs 30 for two-wheelers and Rs 20–Rs 50 for four-wheelers, depending on the duration.The revenue push follows weak financial returns from 16 shops leased beneath the structure over the past three years. SRFDCL hopes the rooftop venture fares better than a similar, unsuccessful attempt at Kankaria Multilevel Parking.
