Rohtak: A state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau team on Thursday arrested a clerk at the zonal marketing enforcement office, New Anaj Mandi, Rohtak, red-handed while allegedly accepting a Rs 40,000 bribe.A case was registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.The complainant, who owns an agro-food company in Narela, had applied for a licence for a zone under the Panipat market committee. After his file was prepared and submitted to the market committee, it was forwarded to the office in Rohtak for further action.When he visited the office to check the status, clerk Rakesh allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 for getting the licence issued. Following the complaint, the bureau verified the allegation and formed a raiding team. During the trap, Rakesh was allegedly caught accepting the bribe and arrested.
