Bengaluru: Two road-rage incidents in the city, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, have drawn sharp criticism from netizens over the attackers’ conduct. In the first incident, an occupant of a Mercedes-Benz was seen assaulting a motorist on 12th Main Road in Indiranagar, east Bengaluru, Thursday. The attack, which took place in the middle of the road amid moving traffic, escalated to the extent that the biker was pushed off his vehicle onto the road. After the assault, the occupants got back into their car and drove away as bystanders looked on.As the video clip went viral, Indiranagar police traced the vehicle owner using the registration number. “The owner told us it was his friend who was involved in the attack. According to him, the motorcyclist had brushed against the car, triggering an argument,” a senior police officer said. “We contacted the motorcyclist and asked him to file a complaint, but he declined, saying he didn’t want to pursue the matter further.”Indiranagar police have thus registered a suo motu case against the attacker, identified as KN Reddy. The second incident was reported recently in BTM Layout, where a cab driver allegedly attacked two youths inside a car with a jack rod at night.“The youths were trying to take a left turn from the main road when the cab blocked their vehicle. As the cab driver was about to move, the youths asked him to clear the space. An argument broke out, following which the cab driver pulled out a jack rod and hit their legs and also kicked one of them,” a police source said. “We’ve identified the owners of both vehicles and will summon them soon.”
