Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Monday issued notices to seven establishments, including hostels, lodges, and coaching institutes, to cease all operations within 24 hours of notice receipt and submit all statutory permits along with approved building plans, it said in a statement.Earlier, notices were served to nine other institutions over regulatory non-compliance, where the responses submitted by the units were deemed unsatisfactory, sources said.Civic authorities expressed concern over residential properties being illegally repurposed for commercial operations without mandatory documentation, including trade license, hostel registration, fire safety, and commercial holding licences.Failure to adhere to the instructions within the stipulated timeframe would result in immediate sealing of the buildings and further legal proceedings, the RMC warned.
