Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Tuesday issued reminder notices to 19 coaching institutes for allegedly failing to comply with civic norms despite previous warnings. The institutes have been directed to rectify violations involving sanctioned building plans, land use provisions, trade licences and other town planning regulations. They have also been asked to submit the required documents and obtain necessary approvals, failing which their premises may be sealed.“Reminder notices are being issued to 19 coaching institutes. Inspections revealed several instances of non-compliance involving approved building plans, land-use provisions, trade licences and other town-planning norms,” deputy municipal commissioner Ravindra Kumar said.“The institutes have been directed to rectify the violations and furnish the required documents. Failure to comply may invite further action under municipal regulations,” he added.RMC had earlier sealed five coaching institutes in Lalpur after finding multiple violations, including the absence of valid trade licences, deviations from sanctioned building plans, unauthorised commercial use of premises and non-compliance with fire safety requirements.Officials said inspections also covered land use permissions, structural approvals, parking facilities and occupancy related clearances mandated under municipal regulations. The crackdown began in Aug, when RMC launched a citywide survey of coaching institutes. Of the nearly 70 establishments inspected, 18 were found operating without valid municipal trade licences. Several others were flagged for building-plan deviations and failure to comply with fire-safety norms.Officials said institutes operating from basements, residential buildings or unauthorised commercial spaces could face penalties, cancellation of licences or sealing if the violations persisted.
