Daltonganj: The Union ministry of railways has sanctioned a 107.89 km broad gauge railway tracks, estimated to cost Rs 2,627.29 crore, between Sherghati in Gayaji district of Bihar and Kajree in Palamu of Jharkhand, sources said.The civil engineering department will spend Rs 2,399.38 crore, signal and telecommunication Rs 104.05 crore, and the electrical department Rs 123.86 crore. The memorandum, dated Aug 13, has been issued by the East Central Railway.Palamu BJP MP Vishnu Dayal Ram said, “It was our long-due demand. This broad gauge railway line will help to boost business, trade, and economy by generatings newer avenues of work and job opportunities.”The line will reduce the Sherghati-Kajree distance by 70 km. Kajree station is about 7 km from Daltonganj, railway sources said.
