An Arab woman in Sharjah has appeared before the Sharjah Misdemeanor Court after her neighbour accused her of misusing phone calls to harass her. The case highlights how everyday communication tools, while designed to make life easier, can sometimes lead to disputes when used excessively.According to a report by Gulf Today, the woman would often visit her neighbour in their residential building and usually coordinated these visits in advance to confirm that it was a convenient time.On one occasion, the neighbour invited her over. The woman later called again to reconfirm the visit before heading to the apartment. However, her repeated calls for confirmation were reportedly seen as excessive by the neighbour. The situation eventually escalated when the neighbour decided to file a lawsuit, accusing the woman of misusing the telephone service to harass her.During the hearing, the accused, identified as F.N., denied the allegations. She told the court that her neighbour had invited her and that she simply went to the apartment after accepting the invitation. She explained that when the door was opened but no one responded, she tried calling several times to check what had happened. After hearing the statements, the court decided to adjourn the session, with a verdict to be issued at a later date.
