Exercise caution before you click on any link or open attachments.Revenue officials strike halts government work in SalemSalem: Revenue officials in Salem district started a sit-in protest and boycotted work on Wednesday demanding the fulfilment of their nine-point demands.The Federation of Revenue Department Unions was on an indefinite strike across Tamil Nadu since Tuesday, demanding the immediate enactment of the Special Job Protection Act, and also started a continuous sit-in protest from Wednesday.As part of this, more than 500 officials, led by the State Vice President of the Tamil Nadu Revenue Department Officers Association, Arthanari, participated in the continuous protest held at the Taluk Office in the Hastampatty area of Salem city and raised slogans in support of their demands.Due to the protest by revenue department, most govt offices in the district were deserted without any employees, and election preparations and daily office work came to a complete standstill.(Photos: AM Shudhagar)
