Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday set an ambitious tone for Telangana’s future, declaring that the state will not just be a gateway to India but to the world.Addressing the Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds, he sought “unwavering support, cooperation and blessings” of the people to implement the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document.“It is the firm resolve of this ‘people’s (Congress) govt’ that Telangana should emerge as a $1 trillion economy by 2034, and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. I am confident that with your collective support we will successfully attain this ambitious goal,” he said.Calling the vision document the first master plan of its kind for an entire state, Revanth said it places agriculture and farmers at the core while giving equal weight to every sector, categorised under CURE (core urban region economy), PURE (peri urban region economy) and RARE (rural agriculture region economy) areas.Presenting a department-wise report card of the Congress govt’s 30-month tenure, he urged citizens to become active partners in the state’s economic growth.“For the past two-and-a-half years, we have been working hard, taking various policy decisions and implementing action plans to fulfil the aspirations of farmers, youth, and women along with ensuring social justice and holistic development for the SC, ST, BC, minority, and economically weaker sections of the upper castes,” he said, adding that Telangana has become a role model in welfare schemes. The Congress govt will be completing two-and-a-half years in office on June 7.Revanth also appealed to farmers to diversify crop production, noting that incentives had already boosted food grain output to a record 2.36 crore metric tonnes in 2025-26.“The state govt spent Rs 1.56 lakh crore on agriculture and farmer welfare over the past two-and-a-half years,” he said, highlighting gains in paddy, maize, cotton, livestock and fisheries. He announced revival of the Pranahita-Chevella project and construction of a barrage at Tummidihatti, promising to complete pending irrigation projects and secure Telangana’s rightful share of river waters.Due to the prevailing heatwave, the CM kept his speech short even as the state govt advanced the celebrations to 8.30 am from 10 am on his directions.
