Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to accelerate the development of tourism infrastructure across Telangana, with a focus on heritage conservation, eco-tourism, urban forests and destination development.He held a review meeting on the tourism sector at the MCR HRD institute and instructed officials to further develop Taramati Baradari as a major tourist hub and transform Durgam Cheruvu into a key tourist attraction.Officials were also told to modernise the Manjira and Dilkusha guest houses and improve visitor facilities. “Develop Vikarabad under the Tourism Hub Development Scheme. The Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple should be developed, for which a temple committee should be constituted on the lines of the one managing the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple,” Revanth said.Focusing on eco-tourism, the chief minister directed that Forest Department land within the Core Urban Region (CURE) be developed jointly by the Forest and Tourism departments. He also called for the creation of eco-parks within Hyderabad on the lines of Gurramguda Eco Park and instructed that forest land in the proposed Future City be developed to international standards through urban forest models. A special officer should be appointed to expedite the implementation of urban forest projects.Officials were further directed to develop the heritage bridge at Puranapul into a tourist attraction by creating visitor amenities and examining the feasibility of diverting traffic to enhance the visitor experience.Reviewing preparations for the proposed Global Investment Summit to be held later this December, Revanth instructed officials to begin the groundwork immediately and constitute inter-departmental committees to ensure effective coordination and the smooth conduct of the event.
