₹7,490 crore credited to 68L farmers under Rythu Bharosa in six days: Tummala

Hyderabad: The Telangana govt has credited ₹7,490.7 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme to the bank accounts of 68.3 lakh farmers within six days of launching the disbursal, Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said on Monday.The disbursal exercise, which began on June 30, covered 124.8 lakh acres, with the assistance transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, the minister said, describing it as a record.On Monday, the govt released Rythu Bharosa assistance to farmers owning between six and seven acres of agricultural land. With this, all eligible farmers in the six-to-seven-acre category have received the benefit, according to the minister.Tummala said the govt had already completed five phases of disbursal covering farmers owning up to six acres.The minister said the disbursal fulfilled the govt’s commitment to extend investment support to farmers through direct benefit transfers.
