Gurgaon: A retired junior engineer of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has come under the scrutiny of the state enforcement bureau following allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to his sources of income.The complaint was filed by a Rewari resident — the same town where the retired discom official currently resides. Acting on the complaint, the bureau has initiated a probe to verify the allegations and examine the engineer’s financial records, assets and income sources.The Rewari unit of Haryana State Enforcement Bureau (HSEnB) has sought property records from the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) as part of the investigation. It has also asked HSVP officials to verify whether any residential or commercial plots have been allotted to the retired engineer or his family members in any HSVP sector.Preliminary verification indicates the officer’s family comprises his wife, two sons and three daughters. “The authority has been asked to examine its property registers to ascertain whether any plot, house or other property has been allotted in the names of the officer or his immediate family members,” an official said.The bureau has requested HSVP to furnish certified details from its property records at the earliest to assist the ongoing investigation. The communication also notes that an earlier letter dated April 21, 2026, seeking similar information was already sent, but no response was received.The investigating agency has not framed any charges so far. “The inquiry remains at the investigation stage, with officials seeking documentary evidence to verify the allegations,” said the officer.
