Times News NetworkKanpur: Maximum temperature in Kanpur Nagar remained stagnant on Tuesday asthe mercury was recorded at 41.8 degree Celsius, same as Monday, forcingcitizens to reel under intense heatwave and sultry weather conditions.Scorching heat coupled with warm winds made outdoor conditions uncomfortable throughout the day.The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.4 degree Celsius, leading towarm nights. Though the maximum relative humidity dropped to 44 per cent, it was insufficient to provide relief from the prevailing humid conditions.North-westerly winds swept across the city at a speed ranging between 7.2kmph and 11.3 kmph, aggravating the heatwave-like conditions. The daytime temperature was recorded around 41 degree Celsius while the real feeltouched nearly 45 degree Celsius during peak afternoon hours.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditionsin the Kanpur division over the next 24 hours are expected to remain mainlyclear, sunny and extremely hot. The maximum temperature is likely to hoverbetween 40 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius while the minimumtemperature may remain between 31 degree Celsius and 32 degree Celsius. Thedepartment has ruled out any possibility of rainfall.In Kanpur Nagar, clear skies and strong sunshine are expected to continueduring the day with humidity. Meanwhile, weather expert Dr S N Sunil Pandey of CSA University said that due to atmospheric moisture and increased moisture flow, there is apossibility of cloud movement and strong winds along with drizzle in some areas. He added that temperatures in the Kanpurdivision may fluctuate by one to two degrees on Wednesday while humid andsultry conditions are likely to persist.
