Lucknow: Registration for 3,010 residential plots in Lucknow Development Authority’s Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar schemes opened on Thursday after chief minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the two housing projects. The schemes, spread over 10,680 acres, are part of LDA’s planned development of new residential townships on the city’s outskirts. Last date for registration is Oct 24.Varun Vihar, planned near Agra Expressway on Mohan Road, comprises 1,926 plots, while in Naimish Nagar, along Sitapur Road-IIM Road corridor, there are 1,084 plots. Registration began on LDA’s website after chief minister performed bhoomi pujan at Dona village near Agra Expressway.Varun Vihar plots range from 112.5 sq metres to 450 sq metres. Registration amounts range from Rs 1.69 lakh to Rs 6.78 lakh. In Naimish Nagar, plot sizes range from 72 sq metres to 450 sq metres, with registration amounts ranging from Rs 1.52 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh.LDA fixed the land rate in Naimish Nagar at Rs 3,800 per sq ft, compared with Rs 2,500 to Rs 2,700 per sq ft in Varun Vihar. The authority said the higher rate in Naimish Nagar was linked to the higher price paid for land acquired from farmers.For Naimish Nagar, LDA is acquiring around 1,486.689 hectares from 18 villages in BKT tehsil. Around Rs 4,785 crore is to be paid to farmers as compensation in several villages in the scheme.The scheme is based on the theme of Naimisharanya—a significant pilgrimage site—and will include a meditation centre, education and medical hubs, a cultural city, community parks, a shopping street and an ODOP market.Chief minister also laid foundation stones for five apartment projects with a combined estimated cost of Rs 2,166 crore. Lake View Apartment in Viraj Khand, Gomti Nagar, will have 646 three-BHK-plus-servant flats, while Park View Apartment in Sector-J, Basant Kunj, will have 364 such flats.Aishbagh Square Apartment in Aishbagh will have 384 three-BHK-plus-servant flats in four towers.
