Vijayawada: Over 82% of the seats offered for MBA and MCA courses through AP ICET-2026 remained vacant after the first phase of counselling, with only 8,059 of the 46,464 seats filled, according to official admission data.
Of the total seats, 38,405 remained unfilled after the first phase. MBA accounted for 29,762 seats; 5,306 were filled, leaving 24,456 vacant. In MCA, 2,753 of the 16,702 seats were filled, leaving 13,949 vacant. The data showed that while 21,205 candidates qualified for AP ICET-2026, only 9,122 registered for counselling and 8,410 exercised their options. The first phase covered 296 colleges for MBA and 181 colleges for MCA, including university, private and private-university institutions.
Meanwhile, 199 sports-category seats were not allotted in the first phase because the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh had not yet released the final merit list. These seats will be considered in subsequent phases.
