Bengaluru: An Audi SUV parked outside a fast-food restaurant close to Koramangala police station triggered the alarm Sunday morning after the eatery staff found a man unresponsive inside the vehicle.Police have identified the deceased as Saleem Akbar S (46), a real estate businessman from Kodagu, who was staying in a Koramangala hotel.He was driving the Audi, which had reportedly arrived near Sagar Fast Food at 2.36am while it was raining. The restaurant staff who arrived in the early hours noticed the SUV and found a man inside.The SUV door was open, and when staff tried to wake the occupant, there was no response. They informed Koramangala police, who rushed to the spot and inspected the vehicle.According to investigators, Saleem may have died of a cardiac arrest, though the exact cause of death will be established through a postmortem examination. His body has been shifted to St John’s Hospital, a senior officer said. Saleem had rented a house at Koramangala. He had later shifted to another place before staying in the hotel.Police have contacted his family, who reside in Kodagu, and are also gathering more details about him and the circumstances preceding his death. A case of unnatural death has been registered. A postmortem examination will be conducted Monday.
