Patna: Four days ahead of Bankipur assembly byelection scheduled for July 30, former Union minister and BJP’s Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday launched a blistering attack on Jan Suraj candidate Prashant Kishor, who is pitted against BJP’s Neeraj Kumar Sinha, and questioned his political credentials.Referring to PK’s popular image as a poll strategist, Prasad took a dig at him by describing him as “just a political surveyor” who has only recently become a “political participant” and is now directly contesting an electoral battle in the Bankipur bypoll. The seat has been won by the BJP for the last nine elections since 1995, and even before that.“It takes time to transform from a political surveyor to a political participant,” Prasad said, adding, “We will win by a huge margin and the opposition will lose badly.”

Highlighting the strength of the BJP candidate Sinha, Prasad pointed to the party’s strong network of workers in every locality, the support of all NDA partners, including JD(U), and the influence of five-time winner from the seat and BJP national president Nitin Nabin. He also highlighted the development works carried out in Patna during the tenure of former CM Nitish Kumar and being continued by CM Samrat Choudhary.Prasad, in this regard, referred to the construction of roads, flyovers, the operation of eight Vande Bharat trains from Patna, Atal Path, JP Ganga Path, the revamped Patna airport and the construction of the four-lane road over Mandiri Nala.Reacting to the political remarks made by Prashant Kishor, Prasad said, “he appeared to be in a state of desperation” and that his observations did not have the right “level”. “The kind of claims he (PK) has made against the election process, BJP and even Jeevika Didis, it seems he has picked up idioms from LoP in Parliament Rahul Gandhi,” Prasad said, adding, “The BJP will win and the opposition will lose.”Neeraj also attacked both PK and RJD working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who, after returning from abroad, joined the campaign for his party candidate Rekha Gupta on Sunday.
