Nagpur: A 24-year-old man, facing charges of allegedly establishing physical relations with a 27-year-old woman against her will, has now been accused of targeting her on social media, posting obscene remarks and threatening her unless she withdraws the complaint, police said.Harshal Yadav, a resident of Gawlipura in Yadav Nagar in Kamptee, and the survivor were in a relationship. New Kamptee police registered a case after the woman alleged that Yadav had sexual relations with her at her residence without her consent.According to the complaint, between Aug 30 and Sept 2, Yadav allegedly continued to insult her on social media platforms, made lewd comments and issued threats aimed at forcing her to withdraw the case.The survivor told police he was pressuring her to withdraw the case and threatening public humiliation if she did not. Police have invoked relevant provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those dealing with sexual assault, outraging a woman’s modesty, criminal intimidation and insult.
