Jaipur: The forest administration has taken action against repeat offenders found entering dangerous waterfalls, rocky stretches and other restricted areas in and around Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR) during the monsoon.The department said some people had been repeatedly accessing such locations and posting videos and photographs on social media despite earlier warnings and awareness efforts. Their presence in these areas not only puts their own lives at risk but can also disturb wildlife and the peace of forest areas.Action was taken Saturday in the Khandar and Phalodi ranges under the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act against those found violating the restrictions.DFO Mamas Singh said, “People have already been made aware of the restrictions and the risks involved in entering these areas during the monsoon. Despite this, some repeat offenders continued to enter restricted locations. Action has therefore been taken against them, and violations will not be ignored.”Forest officials said monsoon conditions make these areas particularly hazardous, with strong water currents, sudden rises in water levels, slippery surfaces, deep ravines and unstable rocks increasing the risk of accidents.The department has directed visitors to stay away from restricted and sensitive forest areas and comply with all safety guidelines and prohibitions. Further violations will invite action under the Wildlife Protection Act and other applicable laws.The forest administration appealed to people not to risk their lives for social media popularity or adventure and urged them to cooperate with officials in keeping both visitors and wildlife safe.
