Ranchi: The Ranchi office of the India Meterological Department on Saturday predicted light rains in isolated parts of the state on Monday. Notably, 48 urban local bodies across the state will go to vote on Monday.The IMD on Saturday said central and southern parts of Jharkhand, which include Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega and West Singhbhum districts may witness a rainy poll day. Earlier, on February 14, the weather office ruled out chances of rain till Feb 21.
Rain was forecast in isolated parts of the state also on Feb 24.“This will happen due to an induced cyclonic circulation formed over Rajasthan, which is moving eastwards. Due to the influence of the cyclonic circulation, which is not very strong, many parts of the state will be cloudy, with the possibility of light rain in isolated places,” the deputy director of IMD Ranchi said.
