Ranchi: A couple was among the three persons arrested in the May 2 murder case of a man over an illicit relationship under the Tatisilwaye police station limits. The body of the victim, Kamlesh Kumar, was recovered on the Ring Road near Mankidhipha the next day, police said.The arrested accused were identified as Shivnath Kumar (33), his wife Angita Devi (28), and an associate, Sahil Raza (19), police added.SP (Rural) Gautam Goswani said, “Based on technical inputs and raids, the special team formed to crack the case arrested the accused persons on Tuesday from their homes located under Tatisilwaye and Angara police station limits. During interrogation, the accused revealed that Angita was in an extra-marital affair with Kamlesh. When Kamlesh married another woman, she complained to her husband that he was physically harassing her for long. The couple hatched a murder conspiracy under which she called Kamlesh to her home and drugged him. Shivnath strangled Kamlesh to death and then carried the body to the Ring Road on a scooter with Sahil’s help.”Sahil was Shivnath’s helper, who owned a truck. The accused persons ran the truck over Kamlesh’s body to pass off the murder as an accident.Three mobile phones besides the truck and the scooter used in the crime have been seized from the accused.
