Ranchi: ‘Holi Milan’ events were organised across the city on Sunday, with residents turning up in large numbers to celebrate the festival of colours in an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie.From public parks to banquet halls and college campuses, community groups and organisations hosted meet-and-greet programmes marked by music, cultural performances, and the exchange of sweets and colours.At Morabadi’s Children’s Park, members of a morning walkers’ group organised a vibrant Holi Milan celebration.“I extend my heartfelt wishes to everyone on Holi. May this festival bring happiness, prosperity, and joy to the people of Ranchi,” Union minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth said while participating in the event, adding that such gatherings strengthen social harmony.At Jail Park, revellers celebrated Rang Utsav with tomatoes and colours in ‘Tomatino Fest’.Ranchi mayor-elect Roshni Khalkho participated in a Holi Milan get-together on Cheshire Home Road. “May the colours of happiness always shower in your lives. Festivals like Holi give us an opportunity to come together beyond differences,” she said.Ashok Nagar Mahila Club organised handicraft exhibitions, cultural performances, and traditional delicacies.Meanwhile, a private event company hosted ‘Rang Saari’ on Station Road, drawing young revellers for a curated festive celebration.Colleges added youthful energy to the celebrations. At Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, students danced to Bhojpuri and Nagpuri songs at a live DJ event, joined by friends visiting from other colleges. “Holi on campus feels like a reunion. Colours, music, and laughter created a vibrant festive atmosphere for all of us,” said Diksha, a student.
