Ramgarh: The district administration and police will launch a major encroachment removal drive to make Ramgarh city smooth, clean and jam-free after a large-scale inspection of town streets on Wednesday.DC Rituraj and SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, along with Ramgarh Cantonment Board chief executive officer Vivek Kumar Singh and senior district officials, inspected the entire urban area and reviewed encroachment and traffic problems on major roads.The DC and SP gave clear and strict instructions to officials to remove every obstacle affecting the city’s traffic system on priority. Organised parking areas will be developed near Sanichara Haat and Subhash Chowk for shoppers and common citizens.It was also decided that Thana Chowk Road, Sanichara bazaar Road, Chatti bazaar and Nehru Road will be widened, while major intersections in the city will be enlarged to ease traffic movement.DC Rituraj said officials concerned have been directed to identify encroachments on town streets and immediately remove illegal occupation in front of shops in Lohar Tola and all types of encroachment from Thana Chowk Road.Nehru Road has been declared a complete “No Parking Zone”, with a total ban on vehicle halting to ensure uninterrupted movement. Executive engineers were directed to identify all dilapidated and damaged roads in the urban area and repair them immediately.Jointly appealing to shopkeepers, businessmen, drivers and residents, the DC and SP said roads and footpaths must not be encroached upon under any circumstances. They warned that “making Ramgarh city beautiful, clean and jam-free is top priority of district administration” and that anyone violating traffic rules or encroaching roads despite repeated appeals will face penal action without any concession.SDO Krishna Murari Tirkey, confidential section in-charge Ravindra Kumar Gupta, circle officer Ramesh Kumar, traffic police in-charge Naveen Kumar Pandey and other officials were present.
