Kanpur: Samajwadi Party national general secretary Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav on Wednesday marked the 53rd birthday of party president and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav by cutting a cake and planting 53 saplings on private land near his residence.Several party workers and leaders attended the event and wished Akhilesh a long and healthy life.Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav said the plantation drive was organised to make Akhilesh’s birthday memorable. He also conveyed a message on environmental conservation and urged people to contribute towards protecting the environment.An SP leader said, “Trees and plants are the foundation of life, and maximum plantation is essential for future generations.”After the plantation drive, party leaders and workers took a pledge to protect the environment and promote greenery.Meanwhile, in Lakhna and other parts of Etawah, workers of various SP wings and activists of the Dohre Mahasabha organised cake-cutting programmes, bhandaras (community feasts) and blood donation camps to mark the occasion.During these events, the workers pledged to bring Akhilesh back to power as UP chief minister in 2027.
