Ram Charan’s latest sports action drama release, ‘Peddi,’ directed by Buchi Babu Sana and co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, is roaring at the box office with positive to mixed reviews on social media. The makers revealed that the film has hit the Rs 135 crore mark on the first day.

Makers share worldwide collections

On Friday, the production house took to its X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce that the film had grossed over Rs 135.36 crore on its first day. Sharing a poster of the actor on the internet, they wrote, “Box office CHAMPION—#PEDDI SIR. 135.36 CR+ GROSS WW on Day 1.”

A detailed look into Ram Charan’s film collection

Looking at a more detailed breakdown of the film’s box office collection, it was reported that on Wednesday, during its special premiere shows, the film collected over Rs 18.5 crore across 847 shows and added Rs 51 crore on the first day with 12,412 shows, bringing the total India gross collections to Rs 82.49 crore as per trade analyst Sacnilk.On the second day, as per the live numbers, the film is currently running across 2,647 shows and has collected a net of Rs 2.79 crore. The majority of the collection comes from the Telugu shows with Rs 2.68 crore. Meanwhile, Hindi shows make Rs 8 lakh, Kannada shows over Rs 1 lakh, and Tamil shows over Rs 2 lakh.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘Peddi’ is a sports action drama that follows the story of Peddi, played by Ram Charan, who is a talented cricketer from a village in Vizianagaram. While many teams want him to play for them, he sees cricket as a way to bring recognition and pride to his village.The film also features Shiva Rajkumar as his mentor Gournaidu, Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, and Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani in supporting roles.The film features music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ratnavelu.
