CHENNAI: A G Perarivalan, a life convict, who spent three decades in jail for his involvement in the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, enrolled as an advocate on Monday. He was released by the Supreme Court on May 18, 2022. After his release he joined a private law college in Karnataka and completed the course.He was enrolled as an advocate at an enrollment function conducted by the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the Madras high court auditorium. Madras high court Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari delivered a special address on the ‘Professional Ethics and Etiquette.’P S Amalraj, chairman of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, welcomed the gathering, while S Prabakaran, senior advocate and vice-chairman of the Bar Council of India, felicitated the new entrants.C K Chandrasekkar, advocate, moved the enrolment motion, while K Balu, chairman of the enrolment committee, administered the oath. J Priscilla Pandian, member of the enrolment committee, delivered the vote of thanks.
