JAIPUR: A woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband following an argument, and their son later killed his father by beating him with a stick in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district, police said on Tuesday.The incident occurred on Monday night in Suwania village under the Gangrar police station area, according to news agency PTI.Deputy superintendent of police Uday Singh said Bhagwana Kalbelia (55) was living in Suwania with a woman named Tara. He had been married twice earlier.According to police, Bhagwana was sitting with some acquaintances at a farm when his former wife Bhomli (50) and their son Anil arrived and allegedly asked him to return to his ancestral village.An argument ensued, during which Bhagwana allegedly opened fire with a gun he was carrying. The bullet struck Bhomli, killing her on the spot.Enraged by his mother’s death, Anil allegedly attacked his father with a stick, killing him, the DSP said.Tara, who intervened during the altercation, was also attacked and sustained injuries. She is currently undergoing treatment.After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and shifted the bodies of Bhagwana and Bhomli to a hospital.A police team has been deployed in the area. Anil has been detained and is being questioned, police said.
