Jaipur: Law students in undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in India or abroad can now apply for internships with Rajasthan Police under a new scheme launched by police headquarters on the directions of DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma.As per an order issued by ADGP (Crime Branch) Bipin Kumar Pandey, selected interns may be attached to units including Crime Branch, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Special Operations Group (SOG), Traffic, Cyber Crime, Legal Branch and Modernisation. They will assist in legal research, policy analysis, data collection, data analysis, report writing and research related to policing, the criminal justice system, forensic science and cyber law.Upon course completion, interns would be required to submit a brief report or research paper to the head of the wing concerned to receive a certificate from Rajasthan Police Training Branch. The unpaid internships last 45 days to three months, requiring a minimum 75% attendance for an experience certificate.To qualify, applicants must have at least 60% in Class 12 and meet specific criteria based on their degree status: final-year three-year LLB students should have completed their fifth or sixth semester, while those in five-year integrated programmes must be in their final year and have completed nine or ten semesters. LLM students who have taken their second-semester exams and PhD scholars with 60% in their undergraduate law degree are also eligible. Recent law graduates awaiting Bar Council enrolment or admission to higher studies may also be considered.Applications are open year-round through RajCop Citizen app. Candidates can apply in Dec, March, June and Sept for batches starting in Jan, April, July and Oct.
