Srinagar, August 13: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast spells of rain and thundershowers at many places across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with the possibility of brief intense and heavy showers in some districts.

According to the latest forecast, a spell of rain or thundershower is expected at many places in J&K on August 13, with brief intense showers likely in a few districts during the afternoon hours.

On August 14, many places in the Jammu Division are likely to receive rain and thundershowers during the early morning and morning hours, accompanied by brief intense showers. Another brief spell is expected at many places across J&K during the afternoon hours.

On August 15, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at many places during the late night and early morning hours, followed by another brief spell during the afternoon.

The weather is expected to remain unsettled from August 16 to 19, with a few spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. The Meteorological Centre has also forecast heavy rain or brief intense heavy showers in a few districts, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

From August 20 to 22, light rain and thundershowers are likely at scattered places.

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has advised caution, particularly between August 16 and 19, when there is a possibility of heavy rain or brief intense showers in a few districts of the Jammu Division and brief intense showers in one or two districts of the Kashmir Division.

It cautioned that torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers may trigger flash floods, landslides, mudslides and waterlogging in low-lying areas.

People, particularly those living in vulnerable areas, have been advised to remain alert during periods of intense rainfall and follow local weather advisories.
