Rain activity is expected to continue in the city throughout the week

Gurgaon: The city is likely to receive light to moderate rain at many places on Tuesday as India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Haryana on Tuesday and Friday, warning of heavy rain at isolated places. No heavy rain warning has been issued for Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday.IMD’s evening bulletin said light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places in Gurgaon on Tuesday. However, the heavy rain warning is for isolated places in Haryana and does not name Gurgaon.Rain activity is expected to continue in the city through the week. Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places in the district on Wednesday and Thursday, while many places could receive rain on Friday.The maximum temperature in Gurgaon on Monday was 33.9°C, 0.6 degrees higher than Sunday’s 33.3°C, according to IMD’s observed temperature data. The minimum temperature was 28°C, as against 27°C on Sunday.Across Haryana, the average maximum temperature rose by 0.1°C compared with Sunday and remained near normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 37.5°C, recorded at Hisar.The weather office said a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas was lying over north Haryana and the neighbourhood at around 0.9 km above mean sea level. The monsoon trough was passing through Firozpur, Muzaffarnagar, Basti and Patna.
