Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday forecast a fresh spell of rainfall across several parts of Gujarat between Sep 12 and 15, signalling a revival of monsoon activity after a prolonged break that followed the heavy rains witnessed in Aug.According to the forecast, heavy rain is likely on Saturday in parts of Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Surendranagar, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Botad, as well as across south Gujarat.On Sunday, very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad districts, while heavy rain is forecast in parts of Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir-Somnath and Botad. Other districts are expected to receive light to moderate showers.Ahmedabad recorded partly cloudy weather on Friday. The city‘s maximum temperature settled at 35.5 degrees celsius, 2.8 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees celsius, 0.4 degrees below normal.
