Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway will run 132 Holi special trains from its jurisdiction to facilitate smooth and comfortable travel during the upcoming festival. Besides, 150 more Holi special trains coming from different parts of the country will pass through ECoR stations.Passenger movement during Holi and Dola Purnima increases as people travel to celebrate with their family members and friends. Keeping this in view, the special trains will operate from the last week of Feb until the end of March.Majority of the special trains will run on these rail routes: Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur, Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad, Sambalpur-Erode, Puri-Patna, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam-Shalimar.The railways has made arrangements at major stations under ECoR jurisdiction to manage the festive rush, said ECoR official statement issued on Saturday.ECoR deployed additional Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and commercial staff at major stations to guide passengers and maintain discipline. Cleaning drives will be carried out to maintain hygiene at stations and onboard special trains during the rush.
