Patna: In view of the continuing heavy passenger rush during the peak summer season, the railways has extended services of several special passenger trains operating under the East Central Railway (ECR) jurisdiction. The decision is aimed at providing relief to passengers and ensuring smoother journey on key long-distance routes across the country.According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, services of the bi-weekly Udhna – Madhubani special ( 09151/09152 ) has been extended up to August 2 to clear the rush of stranded passengers on this particular route. The train will continue to depart from Udhna every Wednesday and Saturday while its return service from Madhubani will run on Friday and Saturday, he said.Similarly, Udhna – Hasanpur Road special ( 09031/09032 ) has also been extended up to July 28. The service will operate from Udhna every Sunday while the return journey from Hasanpur Road will be on every Tuesday. Dr Ambedkar Nagar ( Mhow ) – Patna special ( 09343/09344 ) has received an extension up to July 31, he said adding this train will depart from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar every Thursday while the return service from Patna will run every Friday.In another extension, the Valsad – Danapur special ( 09025/09026 ) will continue its services up to July 28 operating from Valsad every Monday and from Danapur every Tuesday, CPRO said. “The railways has also announced a new stoppage for the Patna – Kota Express ( 13239/13240 ) at Jaunpur City from June 27 onwards enhancing connectivity for passengers travelling in the region,” he added.In addition, these measures are part of ongoing efforts to manage passengers’ rush, improve passenger convenience and strengthen connectivity across important routes originating from the ECR jurisdiction during the high-demand summer season period, he said.
