The truck which ploughed into several vehicles

Ramgarh: A railway employee was killed, and several others were injured after a trailer truck ploughed into multiple vehicles on NH-33 in Chutupalu Valley late on Friday.Naveen Prakash Pandey, the officer in-charge of Ramgarh police station, said, the truck was heading from Ranchi to Ramgarh when it suffered a brake failure and went out of control. “It first rammed into four smaller vehicles ahead of it and then collided with a truck,” he said.Jagdev Tirki, who was on a motorcycle, was killed on the spot. A resident of Angara block in Ranchi district, Tirki was employed at Jageshwar Vihar railway station in Ramgarh district. Tirki was going to report for duty. Police recovered a bag containing his driving licence and medicines near the damaged motorcycle.Several occupants of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries, while at least four vehicles were damaged in the crash.The accident disrupted traffic on the valley section for an hour. Damaged vehicles were later removed using a crane to restore traffic.In a separate incident in the Gola area of Ramgarh district, an SUV allegedly being used to transport cattle overturned into a roadside ditch. Three bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle, while the suspected cattle smugglers fled the spot before police arrived.
