In a post on X, Gandhi alleged that the move came a day after an anonymous social media account described books including Ambedkar’s Annihilation of Caste and Phule’s Gulamgiri as “poison” being fed to young minds. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being “against social justice and equality” and alleged that the government was seeking to discourage students from questioning and thinking.

Gandhi said the sequence was “extremely shocking” and questioned why the government, which he alleged remained silent on issues including paper leaks, unemployment and youth security, had acted quickly following the social media post.
