Jaipur: Max Charlton produced an outstanding performance to propel Team Jindal Polo to a nail-biting 13-12 win over Team Jaipur Aravali in the opening match of the Raffles Sirmour Cup (14-goal) at the Rajasthan Polo Club Ground here on Tuesday.The England polo star slammed seven goals to guide his team to a hard-fought win in an extended game.As a 14-goal high-goal tournament, the match was scheduled for six chukkers. However, with both teams level on score at the end of the match, an additional seventh chukker was played. In the final chukker, Team Jindal Polo secured a win with a one-goal advantage, making the match even more exciting.Besides Charlton’s seven-goal effort, Siddhant Sharma (3 goals) and Venkatesh Jindal (2 goals) also excelled. Simran Shergill was the fourth member of the side.On the other hand, Team Jaipur Aravali saw strong performances from Padmanabh Singh and Lance Watson. While Watson scored 5 goals, Padmanabh added 4 goals. Manuel Fernandez Llorente (2 goals), and Pratap Singh Kanota (1 goal) also tried hard for Team Jaipur Aravali.The second match of the tournament will be played on Wednesday (Feb 11) at the RPC Ground between Team Carysil Suhana and Team Vimal Arion Achievers. Team Carysil Suhana will feature Ashok Chandna, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Manuel Prado and Matias Vial. Team Vimal Arion Achievers will include Shamsheer Ali, Daniel Otamendi, Alejo Aramburu, along with one other player.
