Jodhpur: The principal seat of Rajsthan high court in Jodhpur will begin hearing the appeals by Asaram and two co-accused against their conviction in a rape case from Feb 16 on a regular basis. While deciding the time for the hearings, the court also made it clear that no adjournment will be granted during the hearing. A division bench of Justice Arun Monga and Justice Yogendra Kumar Purohit gave these directions Monday while hearing the petitions challenging the sentence of Asaram and two others, Shilpa and Sharad Chandra. The order read, “The hearing shall commence from Feb 16 and no request for adjournment shall be entertained.” The court further made it clear that all the matters shall be taken up on a day-to-day basis, at the end of the board each day or at 2pm, whichever is earlier, until the arguments of all learned counsel are concluded. It may be noted that during a hearing in the Supreme Court in Dec 2025, the court directed that the pending appeals be taken up expeditiously and disposed of within three months of the order. Asaram is currently out from jail on a six months bail on health ground from Oct 29, 2025 and has been undergoing treatment.
