Ponda: Police have arrested Lavukant Naik, 44, a PWD driver from Wadi-Talaulim for allegedly killing Brahmanand Naik, 40, by ramming his car into him last week on March 21.Brahmanand, who was also from Talaulim, succumbed to his injuries while being treated at GMC, on Friday.Initially, the case was treated as attempted murder, but the police said Lavukant allegedly rammed his car into the two wheeler driven by Brahmanand, with an intent to kill him at Tamshirem-Borim on the Borim-Talaulim internal road. Brahmanand was returning home when Lavukant’s car hit him and the former lost balance of his bike. Lavukant portrayed it as an accident, police said.Police charged Lavukant with murder, and suspect the motive to be previous enemity.Lavukant has been remanded in five days in police custody. and further investigation is being carried out.
