JAIPUR: Police Sunday arrested the operator of a private hospital in Mansarovar for allegedly submitting forged and fabricated documents under the Rajasthan Govt Health Scheme (RGHS).Police have identified the accused as Sondev Bansal, operator of Nivik Hospital. The case was registered on Sept 29, 2025, at Mansarovar police station on the complaint of Jitendra Kumar Sharma, whose mother was admitted to the hospital for treatment earlier that month.According to the complaint, the hospital allegedly collected large sums of money in cash during the course of treatment without issuing bills or receipts. The complainant also alleged that he was not informed about the deterioration in his mother’s condition and was later told that she died.He further alleged that when he demanded treatment records and bills, hospital staff refused and allegedly intimidated him by calling outsiders.Considering the seriousness of the allegations, Jaipur police constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.During the investigation, a medical board of eight doctors from SMS Hospital examined the treatment records and found no evidence of medical negligence. However, police said irregularities were detected in documents uploaded by the hospital on the RGHS portal.Officials said the hospital management allegedly showed the patient as discharged and readmitted multiple times and tampered with a consent form by altering dates before uploading it online. The RGHS authorities also found irregularities during their inquiry, and a forensic science laboratory report confirmed tampering of documents, police said.
